Ice Cream and Anniversaries

Today we met my mom and Tom for ice cream for Ryan's birthday. To my surprise, my grandparents were there too! What a bummer that Sean couldn't join us because it ended up being a surprise anniversary celebration too. But that's ok, we had fun!

And I had lots, and I mean, a lot of ice cream. I am pretty sure I gained 20 lbs today. We got Ryan an ice cream, and well he didn't have more than 2 bites of it, and I couldn't see wasting it, so I ate it. And ate my own ice cream. It was a lot of ice cream. Next time I will get the kids size! Or, share mine with Ryan. Lately all he wants to do is eat whatever I am eating anyway. It doesn't matter if I make his own plate of food with the same exact things on it, nope, he wants mine.

Anyway, way off on a tangent there. We went to this place called the Big Dipper. I hadn't been there before but I was excited to go because it had an awesome playground. It was a great time, and the playground was great because it didn't have any drop offs where I would have to worry about him falling off. I could actually sit and eat! An amazing concept when you have a toddler!

I had a great time visiting with everyone, and letting Ryan play. He seemed to like it there, expecially when there were kids there his age. He also was very interested in following a family that had brought their dog. He followed them across the park, and right over to their picnic table! I had to go rescue the poor family, that was probably curious why a small boy was following them around. Ryan seems to think that ALL doggies are HIS. Silly boy.

My grandmother got Ryan a new monkey friend, which Ryan really liked. He liked him even better after I took the tags off of him. He rolled his stroller out to the park and sat in it and inspected his monkey friend, it was pretty cute.


He had fun for a long while, but after a while he had enough and was ready to go home. Poor guy scraped his elbow and bumped his head, all in one day. Poor guy. We got home and he was super grouchy, and then we realized that he was starving. He didn't eat much today but made up for it for dinner when he ate all of his food, and then half of mine. Then he was much happier. Now granted, sleeping tonight is another story. We put him to bed 2 hours ago, and he is STILL not sleeping. I hope he will sleep soon because Mommy is certainly tired.
