Our Trip to CT

We left on Monday at 3:30, about an hour later than we had hoped (but still managed to make it there on time, mostly). The traffic was really good, and we were glad that we had the iPhone GPS to help us on our way. It only took us 2.5 hours to get there, and Ryan slept for about half the trip which was great.

Adam and Chelsea were both very kind and offered to let us stay with them for the evening. Ryan was pretty well behaved while we were there. He LOVED the playroom, and now Sean and I decided to get him a play kitchen because he loved their daughters so much.

Here Ryan is playing with a metal bowl, water bottle and a toy baby bottle. He is really into trying to figure out how to pour things into other things, so he pretty much played with these the entire time we were there:

Ryan did really well spending the night. He slept in his pack and play in the dining room, and did quite well. Though he did wake up twice, once because he was hot and wet, and the second time was only for a few moments and he was asleep again.

Tuesday morning, we packed up and headed to the office. The playroom was great, and it had crayons, trains and blocks, all right up Ryan's alley. By 11ish, he was seeming tired and I thought he might nap for me, but he refused. Almost had him asleep and then Daddy talked and all he could say was "Seaaa!"

We had lunch at this cool place that used to be a post office. Ryan was kind of off the walls at this point, but he was pretty tired and I think that had to do with most of it. Overall, he did pretty well.

Later in the afternoon we went and visited the girls school so I could see what a Montessori school had, instead of just reading it all online. What a wonderful opportunity!

Here is Sydney showing Ryan the loft in her classroom that they use for reading. He thought it was pretty neat and kept trying to climb up there.

Poor boy was so tired, he is resting his head on the little couch in the loft:

There were some wooden toys on the shelves that Ryan was really interested in. Chelsea and the girls tried to show Ryan the right way to play with them, but he was already running to get into something else (like dumping out containers of buttons and wooden shapes, oy vey!)

Everyone at the school were very friendly, even though Ryan had a huge meltdown because I wouldn't let him play on the big kids playground right away. Once I let him play on the playground, he ended up having a great time. We left when he was so bright red I was getting concerned he would overheat.

Ryan and I were in the car cooling off with the AC on waiting for Chelsea to finish up with a friend of hers. Ryan I think is in love with Chelsea. He is never this friendly and open with women! He was watching her every move in the car and even blew her a kiss!

We went back to the office for a couple more hours, and while we waited for Sean to finish up in the office, Vanessa, Sydney, and I made paper airplanes and would have some flying contests. Mine kind of sucked, but Vanessa and I realized all we needed to do was make adjustments and try again. It was fun, they were so cute! Ryan really got excited when we would count to three to throw them because he knew that they would go flying over his head. It was a good activity for everyone :)

By the time we left, Ryan was exhausted at that point and slept for half the ride home. We came home and ate, and all went to bed. It was a great trip, and now Sean is thinking of moving there. What a great trip, thanks Chelsea, Adam, Sydney and Vanessa!
