We left around noon, and by the time we got there, it was packed! We ended up parking and having to walk a 1/4 mile to get to the park, but it was good exercise. We didn't bring the stroller though because of Ryan's LOVE of buckles, so it was good to have a few family members to help with the carrying of him when needed. I was afraid if we brought the stroller all he would want to do was to play with them and not pay attention to the park.
First place we went was in the bird exhibit, and Ryan LOVED it. It was a great place to start, it was all fenced in so he could burn off some energy without getting too far away. He loved that the birds could come right up to him, and he was very careful not to get to close and scare them.

There was a little caged-in section in the bird area that had two pink parakeets. Ryan loved them and kept going back to them and saying "Hello!" One was very friendly and kept flying right onto a branch eye level with Ryan, and he was so thrilled!

There is a huge duck pond there that people can rent paddle boats and go around a loop, and pedestrians can go over a series of bridges overlooking the pond. Ryan thought it was great that the ducks were RIGHT there.

After the zoo, we went to the beach since Ryan loves it so much and it was so close. He had SO much fun, I think it is his new favorite place to go. He loves that he can play with the sand, water and just run for all he is worth. I just love this kid!

Here Ryan is running towards the kite in the sky, yelling in excitement, "Ball!! Ball!!"

Awww, I miss him already. Knowing that you were at the York Zoo, we were remembering that when we went 2 years agao, sydney was Ryan's age and was traumatized that a duck bit her. It really did. We would love to come along next time you go! Those are great pictures!
