More bed adventures

So last night I worked until midnight because that is when the kids mom got home from her business trip. It was kind of nice in a way, I was able to study after the kids got to bed uninterrupted! That rarely happens, making studying a very challenging endeavor. But I digress....

When Carolyn got home, we chatted about how the week went and next thing you know, 45 minutes had gone by. When I got home I was sure to be extra quiet so the loud dogs wouldn't wake up Ryan. I tip-toed into the house, but the dogs managed to bark anyway. Oh well I thought, hopefully it won't wake him up.

I rounded the corner into the living room, and there was a very tired and worn out Sean holding Ryan. Ryan who appeared very bright eyed and bushy-tailed. He was of course super excited to see me and started dancing at my feet. Sean then informed me that the bed adventures were not good tonight and he had tried for the past 4 hours to get Ryan to sleep.

Sean was also stressed out because he still had work to get done, so I told him to go ahead and go up and work on it, and I would work on getting Ryan to sleep. I went upstairs with Ryan and told him it was time to go night-night and he climbed right into bed, and within 5 minutes was snoring. Poor Sean, I think he about cried because the poor guy had tried so hard to get him to sleep. I guess sometimes Ryan needs his mommy.

On the plus side, we got Ryan's new bedset, which he LOVES. He was trying to pick the monkeys off the sheets, which was so cute!

There is just something about mom! Did he get mad that the monkeys wouldn't come off? Maybe sean should just not bother putting Ryan to bed. Let him roam until he passes out. I don't know, no use fighting about...He doesn't go to school yet. If bedtime becomes and issue now, It could continue...he goes to bed for you...that's a great thing! My advise is to leave hime be! Either way, he's still awake when you get home! I'm sure that more mature people disagree with me...so do what you feel is right! Vanessa fell asleap with me until she was 2 and I moved her to her bed. Sydny slept on a cot next to my bed until she was 2.5....Both kids go to bed willingly and quietly now at 6 and 3..It will all work out..just don't stress about it.
